what is navy api like

i understand that flight school is tough and people fall off, but curious if anyone has updated numbers or if anyone in school/recently winged can speak to it. how many of these 100 will likely make it to winging, and how many will fall off/fail at each stage (how many in api, in primary, advanced, etc.)? i understand that it might be different for different communities, but generally curious what the aviation pipeline “success” rate is — and also curious to hear people’s stories/opinions. as a reminder, this subreddit is for civil discussion. breaking subreddit rules may result in a ban from r/newtothenavy and r/navy. this includes lying by omission (leaving information out) and lying by commission (purposefully misleading). please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns. it’s better to give it a shot and try your hardest than not try at all because of a metric. try not to worry about this. with the recent cnatra (chief of naval aviation training) changes, sna attrition will be getting higher.

his new solution to “minimize” the affect of subjectivity (which will always be a factor) is to make the entire grading system subjective. this is being selectively implemented as some people i know in flight school have 5-6 failures and are retained while others are getting the boot almost immediately. we have a huge pilot shortage, but in his words the solution to the problem is not to make more pilots, but to somehow make “better” pilots. they expect you to teach yourself most of everything you need to know from a book, which for me, is damn near impossible. in my experience, if you can pass the brief you’ll pass the flight. i’m an snfo so i can’t be 100% helpful, but i can tell you that because of how backed up naval aviation training is in general, big navy is front loading attrition to weed students out before they get to the training squadrons. api standards have gone up, and failures follow you the whole way now. the guys and gals i saw leave were not surprises. and even then, most were dors or due to physical issues. being in api and now primary i will say that it seems like only a couple at each stage fail. mostly because everyone is really good at studying, though the standards have been slowly rising.

correct me if i’m wrong api types but i assume like all other navy tests the api exam questions are the naval aviation schools command survival department will be the physical readiness standards are as listed: how many of these 100 will likely make it to winging, and how many will fall off/ fail at each stage (how many in api, in, what is navy api like site:www.airwarriors.com&prmd=niv, navy api lectures, navy api lectures, navy api practice tests, how long is navy api.
