on june 13th, i moved across the country from a boston suburb to san francisco to launch my career in the class of program at oracle. oracle’s five-week training program for class of hires, known as oracle sales academy (osa), was an experience i will look back on with fondness over the course of my career. many thanks to the devoted team at osa for not only putting together an invaluable program, but also working tirelessly to improve it with each new class of cohort. integrity tops the list of values i hold near and dear to my heart. erring on the side of caution and fearlessly soliciting advice from trusted mentors in potentially questionable scenarios are the keys to ensuring that i never find myself on the wrong side of an ethical line.




my time at osa further strengthened my conviction that my personal values align closely with those of my company. osa leaders and oracle executives highlighted the applicability of this principle to the business development consultant (bdc) role, in which my peers and i will be engaging in high volumes of activity to drive growth in our assigned territories. in order to maximize the outcomes of my work, i must learn what strategies generate high-quality output and then do the right quantities of the right activities at the right times with laser-sharp focus. osa equipped me with a powerful arsenal of knowledge about prospecting, sales, on-premise software, cloud computing, and the lines of business relevant to the cloud applications i’m consulting new and existing customers on. approaching every day on the job with a sponge-like attitude and keeping up with the latest happenings of the ever-evolving, interdependent worlds of business and technology will allow me to propel my professional development and cultivate fruitful business relationships.
