i want to be able to use formulas to compare lists of names, find and replace, find percentages of inputs that are yes, no or n/a etc. there’s an amazing free course created by a redditor called excel exposure. go through these lessons in order, it’s everything you need: /lesson-guide/ you can definitely find a lot for free on youtube. if the ms one is too much udemy has a fair few and they are typically around a tenner. i can’t talk to the quality of this one but for the price it can’t be too bad and will likely have a better structure than similar free course (i..e youtube) /microsoft-excel-2013-from-beginner-to-advanced-and-beyond/ i’m sure some other courses teach more useful content, but having a microsoft accredited excel expert qualification will make your cv stand out more than the rest. the 2016 exams are the most recent at the moment. i believe they charge a monthly subscription fee and then you can take unlimited classes. i also highly recommend chris dutton – he has some classes on lynda and some on udemy as well.
i’ve only done ones by chris dutton and the guy is good. well, they are cheap except a few days per month when they pretend that one of their excel courses is $199.99 :/ u/thruxton , never pay more than $11 for a udemy course. sales happen more often than not and they are a huge discount of 90% or more. there are a lot of well written websites that go over functions and gives examples. find and replace- you will have to learn some vba (microsoft office’s scripting language) if you want to go down a list and have it automatically find and replace values in a spreadsheet. find percentages of inputs that are yes, no or n/a- you could use the count function and the countif function which would count the # of no’s yes’ & n/a’s. excel can do a million different things so do not expect to learn everything from a single lesson or a class. yep i understand, excel can do a million things and we have all have infinitely varying data to work with so there is no one stop solution.
